Omeo Highway
Review by Brad Nichol

The section of the Omeo Highway between Omeo and Mitta Mitta is widely regarded as one, if not the most demanding and rewarding motorcycle rides in Australia. Running through the Victorian Alps and the Alpine National Park, it combines very technical road riding with remote high-country scenery, making it a bucket-list route for experienced riders.

Motorcycle Touring Guide: Bonang Rd (Victoria)

The Bonang Road is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most remote and rewarding motorcycle rides. Stretching from near Delegate (NSW border) to Orbost in East Gippsland, it winds through dense forest, river valleys and rugged mountain terrain. For experienced riders, the Bonang Road offers a technical and scenic journey, but one that demands considerable respect, planning and caution.

The Brayton Loop

Got a smaller machine that needs a little exercise, or perhaps you just want a shorter ride to free the mind.  Goulburn is blessed with an incredible array of options but this one is particularly lovely, traffic is generally limited, the scenery is great and you have a convenient stop mid way.  I’ve done this loop several times and it never gets old.

Dirty Golspie

Most local riders are very familiar with the fabulous Goulburn- Taralga- Crookwell - Goulburn loop, it contains a perfect set of roads that are generally in good condition, sweeping curves, some tighter corners and more.  The section between Laggan and Taralga is especially loved now that the road has been repaired and upgraded.

Spada Review

Post the mid 60’s few 250s other than some race replica strokers sought a higher station in life.  250s generally lead hard and short lives, thrashed mercilessly by inexperienced and unsympathetic riders, dropped more often than ridden and normally starved of basic maintenance.   Finding a good condition vintage 250 is a challenge, finding one you’d actually enjoy riding…. Well that’s close to mission impossible.

C77 Honda Dream

The Honda C72 (250cc) and Honda C77 (305cc) Dream models occupy a pivotal place in motorcycle history. Produced from the early 1960’s, they were among the first mid-capacity motorcycles exported globally by Honda Motor Co. and played a major role in establishing the company’s reputation for reliability, engineering sophistication, and mass production.

Classic Motorcycle Mecca, Invercargill, New Zealand

Review by Brad Nichol

Classic Motorcycle Mecca, located at 25 Tay Street in the heart of Invercargill, New Zealand. It’s regarded as the Southern Hemisphere’s premier motorcycle museum. Housed in two sympathetically restored historic buildings, the museum spans three levels and encompasses over 1,600 square metres of very well lit exhibition space. The environment has a quite welcoming feel which encourages visitors to simply take their time and soak in the incredible displays on offer.

Sammy Millers Motorcycle Museum, New Milton UK

Recently on a trip to the UK visiting family for Christmas 2024, Julie and I took some time out to do a roving tour of various car and motorcycle museums in the south of England.

Some of these including The Bugatti Trust at Prescott, the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu and best of all, only 22 km away, the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum at New Milton. This was my second visit to Sammy Millers Museum, having been here once before in July 2022.

The Worn Out Wander Tour  2026

Review  by Julie Kneebone

On our first day ten intrepid riders with much anticipation gathered at Trappers Goulburn for coffee/breakfast and meet and greet for our 5 day, 4 nights trek around the country side. Originally it was twelve but sadly through injury Colin and Lois couldn’t make it. It was an overcast day with a foggy and soggy demeanour as we left in spitting rain with a frosty temperature drop. Chris & Cherrie, Brad & Wendy, John and Soie, Greg M, Ross L, Howard and myself headed off on country roads towards Bungonia and on past Marulan towards Tallong and beyond.

Inaugural LAM's and Small Capacity Ride 2026

The club's inaugural LAM's and Small Capacity Ride, held on the 18 April 2026, brought together twenty-two motorcycles and twenty-five people for a day that proved you don't need big horsepower to have big fun.

If this inaugural ride proved anything, it's that inclusivity and simplicity can reinvigorate a club. By welcoming newer riders and celebrating smaller machines, the Classic Riders Club of Goulburn has tapped into something important...
